Merry Moments in Poetry

by Nancy Boyles
Illustrated by Alo Pastori

This collection of poems for Grade 3 provides students with close reading practice. The poems in this book are so much fun! Merry moments come alive through rhythm and rhyme in make-believe block cities, imaginary lands far away, and the Sandman's visits to sleepy children. As evening falls, meet the Man in the Moon and a young lamplighter who will light your way. Enjoy happy times as you smile your way through these poems by Robert Louis Stevenson and other poets who have captured the hearts of children for a long time. Also included are places to pause and reflect on the text and opportunities to respond to the reading.
