Caitlin Joyner is an impassioned teacher, reader, writer, and mother. She has taught and mentored high school students since 1998. Caitlin graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.A. in English and Secondary Education from Wake Forest University. Her teaching journey began in Cobb County, GA, where she taught American Literature at Carl Harrison High School. After obtaining her Gifted Certification, she moved on to teach English in Sarasota County, FL at Venice High School. Her creative classroom practices led her to be a two-time finalist for the prestigious Waddill Excellence in Teaching Award, presented annually from Wake Forest University. Currently, Caitlin privately coaches students in standardized test preparation, essay writing, and post-secondary entrance applications. Her ultimate goal is for her students to embrace their authentic voices and to build active and engaged readers and thinkers. Caitlin resides in Venice, FL with her wonderful husband and two beautiful sons.
