Brian Backman

Brian Backman has taught high-school English for twenty years in the seaside town of Anacortes, Washington. His interest in developing writing strategies that work for all students began ten years ago when he started teaching Advanced Placement English Language and Composition. His previous two books are: Thinking in Threes: The Power of Three in Writing (2005) and Building Sentence Skills: Tools for Writing the Amazing English Sentence (2003). He earned his bachelor’s degree in English and his master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from Seattle Pacific University.
