BTR ZONE

Welcome to the ZONE – the Bridge to Reading Zone where your middle grade students will find literacy success. BTR Zone was developed to provide students with motivating text that provides a scaffold of literacy skills to help them develop strategies for success.

The high interest books are written at the 2nd and 3rd grade reading levels and include scaffolds such as on-page definitions, photographs, illustrations, captions, subheads, and informational graphics. BTR Zone books provide practice with the text features important to understanding informational text.

• Blue - The Blue level program includes 10 new nonfiction high-interest, low reading level books to help striving readers develop vocabulary, comprehension and fluency skills. Developed for students in grades 5-9+ reading at 2nd grade reading level.
   
• Red - The Red level program includes 10 new nonfiction high-interest, low reading level books to help striving readers develop vocabulary, comprehension and fluency skills. Developed for students in grades 5-9+ reading at 3rd grade reading level.
   
• Green - The Green level program includes 10 new nonfiction high-interest, low reading level books to help striving readers develop vocabulary, comprehension and fluency skills. Developed for students in grades 5-9+ reading at 4th grade reading level.
   
• Purple - The Purple level program includes 10 new nonfiction high-interest, low reading level books to help striving readers develop vocabulary, comprehension and fluency skills. Developed for students in grades 5-9+ reading at 5th grade reading level.
   
• Bridge to Reading Zone Teacher’s Guide - The BTR Zone Teacher’s Resource Guide provides teachers with literacy strategies for striving readers by providing a instructional plan steeped in Common Core State Standards for Language Arts, provides instruction for vocabulary, fluency, comprehension, and authentic writing — truly providing a bridge for students to become more strategic readers.
