More than 150 compelling photos and provocative writing prompts work together in this hybrid photo book/journal to inspire young adults to think, dream, create. Writers looking for inspiration and ideas will find what they need here. Image and Imagination is a repository of story starters, a practice space for fun and informal writing, and a turnkey to unlock the writer within.
"The large book is beautifully produced, as much an art book as a journal, with illustrations as lovely as the words. The high quality of the paper ensures that writing with pen or marker will not bleed through the page. An opening section on “How do I use this book?” explains to the reader that this is not a workbook, but it provides images and ideas as starting points “to get you thinking.” The material in Image and Imagination: Ideas and Inspiration for Teen Writers can be useful for a creative writing workshop, a writers’ group, or a retreat. This inviting and appealing book makes a great gift." - VOYA

"A wonderful tool to inspire even the most unambitious student writer. This self-proclaimed nonworkbook (“This isn’t a workbook…you don’t have to do what the prompts ask”) reads like a personal diary: a space for students to throw caution—and all writing rules—to the wind. One hundred and fifty writing and imagery prompts attempt to get those creative juices flowing with an emphasis on the basics: getting the words out, revising, and sharing with others (if desired). . . .Each page is more beautiful than the next. Plenty of writing space is waiting to be filled with ideas, poems, and stories—inspired by this volume—from the mind of teens. . . .use this in creative writing exercises or give the book to students and watch the magic happen." - School Library Journal

"The book is filled with gorgeous photographs, beautiful design, and interesting writing prompts. What’s more, I think it can be used for writers of all ages, not just teens." - Imagination Soup
