Order, Shipping and Sales

Do you charge sales tax?

Sales tax will be added to orders, if required by law. Some states (NC, IL, AZ, CA) may be taxed.

How do I check the status of my order?

If you order online, or provide an email address with your order, we will send you tracking information to check your order status. You can also check your orders from the My Account page or contact Customer Service.

If I place an order for several books and one isn’t currently available, will you wait until that book is in stock and ship them all together or will you ship the available books immediately and the other one later?

We will ship all books that we have in stock and then do one backorder when all remaining back ordered books arrive in our warehouse.

Can I pre-order books?

If a product is available for pre-order, the product will appear on the web site but instead of [Add to Cart] you will see a button that says [Pre-Order].  The item will be added to your cart and noted as a pre-ordered item with an estimated publish date.  If a product is not yet available for pre-order, then it has not yet been made available on the web site and you can contact Customer Service to find out more.

If I place an order, can I send the books to more than one shipping address?

No, our system does not allow for that option at this time.  Orders sent to separate shipping addresses need to be submitted as separate orders.  However, there are Wish List features to help you through this as well as the ability to save separate shopping carts.  Create a wish list for each shipping location, add items to each list as you want as you go.  When your wish lists are complete, you can open one and convert it to a Shopping Cart to complete the order, then repeat with the other Wish List!

What methods of payment do you accept?

All personal orders must be pre-paid. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express,.  Institutions may use a Purchase Order and be billed for orders.

Can I place an order without registering?

Capstone Young Reader customers may place an order without registering if they wish.  Most of the information you will need to provide in order to receive your order is the same information for registration.  We encourage you to register so that you can access your account and any time and view your order status, order history, create wish lists, and other features having your account on record will provide.  Library and Classroom customers, however, must register in order to place an order.

Can I use multiple promo codes when ordering?

No.  You can only use a single promo code at a time.  If you believe your order qualifies for multiple promotions, please contact Customer Service to investigate.
