Laura Fullmer developed a love of teaching while working in early elementary reading programs at the University of Florida. Her article, Teaching Sam to Enjoy Reading, was based on these experiences and published in NAEYC’s Young Children magazine. She received a Master's Degree in Elementary Education in 2004 and has been a kindergarten and first grade teacher since. She holds a national reading specialist endorsement, served as a reading intervention teacher and RtI lead, and works closely with teachers new to the profession. The Idaho State Department of Education recognized her with two 21st Century Classroom Awards for best practices in Visual Arts and Technology Innovation. When she's not teaching or designing lessons, she and her husband Jeff are savoring time with their own "not-so-young" children.
