The author of the Amazon best-selling hardcover Batman: A Visual History, Matthew K. Manning has contributed to many comic books, including Beware the Batman, Spider-Man Unlimited, Pirates of the Caribbean: Six Sea Shanties, Justice League Adventures, Looney Tunes, and Scooby-Doo, Where Are You? When not writing comics themselves, Manning often authors books about comics, as well as a series of young reader books starring Superman, Batman, and the Flash for Capstone. Matthew offers small-classroom sized workshops on how to create comic books for students in grades 3 through high school.
He also makes presentations suited for larger, auditorium-style lectures on the history of comics, how a comic is made from pitch to finished issue, and how books are manufactured.
Lectures include a trivia contest, live reading by students, and Q & A, usually followed with a book signing.

Each presentation lasts from 45 minutes to one hour.

For visits to local schools, and/or school libraries, and virtual visits:
$300 per presentation
$800 for a full day, with a limit of three presentations.

For visits to out-of-town schools and/or school libraries:
$400 per presentation, plus expenses.
$1,000 for a full day, with a limit of three presentations.
