The Goddess of YA Literature

"I often tell the Grimm's version of Cinderella when I booktalk to tweens and teens. This GN variant is the closest to the Grimm that I have seen. It is dark (as is the Grimm variant) with simple text accessible even to readers with limited proficiency. A glossary is included. Stone Arch is doing mighty interesting things with the GN format. http://professornana.livejournal.com/238881.html" - The Goddess of YA Literature

School Library Journal

"“Once upon a time a heart was broken” begins this adaptation of a timeless tale. This version provides a few new and interesting twists. For example, a tree growing on Cinderella’s mother’s grave plays an important role. Clever text is supported by sepia-colored illustrations. An interesting history of the story is included." - School Library Journal
