"Best friends can share similarities, but how about differences? Jordan and Ashley are best friends, even though they are different. Their friendship comes to a test when they are partners for a class project. The assignment involves making a neat and orderly poster. This worries Jordan; Ashley is messy, whereas he is neat. He begins to wonder if they can succeed with the project. After dividing the space on the posterboard, the partners divide the crayons. The division of the crayons leads to a discussion about the concept of odd and even numbers, which happens to be the topic of the poster that they are designing. The color illustrations provide support for the text. Directions for an even/odd activity are provided in the back of the book. For more resources about odd and even numbers, check the book list and explore the websites suggested by FactHound. This book is a part of the “Read-it! Readers: Math” series. Introductory material includes a brief description of the leveled texts and some suggestions for adults when using the book with children." - Children's Literature Comprehensive Database
