American Farm Bureau, Recommended Book List

"This book from the Graphic Library collection is produced in a comic book format that will appeal to the most challenged reader. The book tells the story of the creation of the cotton gin and the difficulties that Eli Whitney had in becoming successful. The story does not avoid the impact the cotton gin had on increasing slavery, which is to be commended. It also tells the story of how Eli Whitney became successful and the impact his success had on the civil war and ultimate freedom of the slaves. The book ends with a timeline of advances made by Eli Whitney, a glossary, a recommended reading list, recommended Internet sites, and a bibliography." - American Farm Bureau, Recommended Book List
