"This book, part of the Field Trip Mysteries series, combines a gentle mystery with lots of facts about Mount Rushmore. . . .Cat and her friends are intrepid sleuths in the way that fictional children sometimes are (see everyone from Encyclopedia Brown to Theodore Boone to the Babysitters Club). . . .A solid pick for school classrooms, school libraries, and public libraries to consider for their collections." - Crowding the Book Truck blog

"This is the kind of book and series that I would have devoured when I was a kid. The characters complement each other and they're all interesting and likable. . . . Young mystery fans should have a ball with this book." - Second Bookshelf on the Right blog

"This fast paced, well constructed mystery gives enough red herrings to point to many solutions, giving the reader time to ponder the clues. The plot moves with the dialog, supplemented with full page graphic illustrations. Pertinent quotes fill whole pages and tie together the plot turns." - SWON Library Consortium, Ohio
