Finn Reeder's English teacher is out sick, and the sub assigns his class to start writing a journal. Over the course of the next month, a flu epidemic ravages Finn's school.
"When the flu hits Flynn's school and the news announces there is a Flu pandemic, Finn's father panics. He makes Flynn wear a mask to school. He buys hasmat suits for them. When Finn's mother gets sick he is totally isolated. His father leaves his food outside the door and refuses to let him out except to go to school. The question you had to ask yourself was if all of this preparation would really protect Finn. I laughed at the father's antics and at the same time felt so sorry for Finn. I really enjoyed this book. http://www.themusingsofabookaddict.com/2010/11/finn-reeder-flu-fighter-eric-stevens.html" - Musings of a Book Addict Blog

"The only H1N1 novel for the Wimpy Kid crowd. Writing and drawing in his English assignment journal, the snarky narrator observes the over-reaction of his family to the announced pandemic. http://www.earlyword.com/2010/01/25/h1n1-the-novel/" - Early Word Kids Blog

"The non-event of the swine flu epidemic seems long ago, but this extremely funny story of a kid whose teachers, friends and family begin dropping like flies is perfect for the kid who has run out of Wimpy Kid books and refuses to touch anything else. Gross humor abounds as Finn becomes the last kid standing. http://www.earlyword.com/2010/11/30/best" - EarlyWord Blog
