Put on sunscreen and sturdy shoes. Watch for cars, and stay with your friends. It's time to learn the rules of playground safety!
"Becca, Mia, and Andy, a diverse group of children, want to go to the park. The children’s families discuss safety with them before they are allowed to leave for the park. Several examples of playground safety are discussed, including staying together, climbing up the stairs on a slide, and wearing appropriate clothing and sunscreen. Becca, the oldest of the three children, is very conscientious and assists the younger ones with remembering the safety rules on the equipment. A “Safety Tip” is prominently displayed on each page for reinforcement. The watercolor illustrations provide familiar scenes of playground activities and are large enough to share with groups. This is a valuable book to share with young children especially at the beginning of a school year or summer vacation, when playground activity is highest. Schools, public libraries, and daycare facilities will use this resource over and over in order to remind children of safe play. This book is one of four books in the series “How to Be Safe.”" - Children's Literature Comprehensive Database
