A Primary Source History of Westward Expansion

Throughout the 1800s millions of people pushed into the western United States. They went for gold, opportunities, and a chance for a better life. "The layout includes “critical thinking” boxes which ask the reader to compare source quotations or consider a document’s impact. . . .Titles would work well as guided introductory or overview texts at the beginning of a unit." - School Library Connection
