Reviews

Library Media Connection - David Lininger, MS/HS Librarian, Hickory County R-1 Schools, Urbana, Missouri

"For some reason books about soldiers and their equipment tend to appeal more to boys than girls, particularly at the middle school level, and this series is no exception. Since these are short books they are not very detailed, but they are not lacking in information. Each title focuses on a different aspect of the military, and attempts to show as much as possible about that aspect. I’m looking forward to placing these books in my library and watching them circulate, I think my male students will enjoy them. Recommended." - Library Media Connection

Booklist - Susan Dove Lempke

"Top 10 Military Series. This intriguing series focuses on the science underlying military weapons, vehicles, and procedures, giving clear and illuminating explanations. It includes plenty of women in its many photographs of soldiers at work in the field with their high-tech tools." - Booklist

Baldwin Borough Public Library (Pittsburgh, PA) - Kathleen M. Rizzo, Highlands Middle School

"Many of my male middle school library patrons are always requesting books on weapons and military. I like how this book explains the science behind many of the weapons used in past, present, as well as future warfare. There are interesting facts highlighted on the side of the pages to draw in the reader’s attention. The graphics and photographs are also eye-catching. A majority of the photos contain captions which can be helpful in understanding." - Baldwin Borough Public Library (Pittsburgh, PA)
