Library Media Connection - Kathleen McBroom

"The seasons are the topic of these nonfiction offerings. Each season gets its own book, and each title follows a similar format. Brief chapters describe typical temperature patterns and weather conditions, seasonal changes that affect plants and trees, ways in which animals adapt, and suggest fun outdoor activities. Readers are directed to the FactHound portal site, which maintains links to vetted Internet resources. The selections follow a typical graphic layout, with informational text accompanying colorful drawings. Technical vocabulary is introduced in context and then reinforced through the illustrations. Content aligns with national standards for the early elementary grades, and these selections provide accessible curriculum support. Bibliography. Glossary. Index. Recommended." - Library Media Connection
