Children's Literature Comprehensive Database - L. A. Gallaway

"When Grandma Tootie comes to visit, everyone is excited, especially the dog Tuckerbean. That is because Tuckerbean and Grandma Tootie have a secret: they both love to bowl. They go bowling together and cheer each other on even when they do not hit any pins. Afterwards, they share a peanut butter cookie before settling down to have happy dreams all night long. This is a comforting, endearing easy reader. It is written with one to three lines per page. Simple vocabulary and repetitious sentence structure support the novice reader as do the cheerful, colorful illustrations by Benton" - Children's Literature Comprehensive Database
