Library Media Connection - Patricia Brown

"This series will be helpful for students who find that they have discovered seemingly contradictory information in books or on websites. While the books are slim, much information is contained in them. The authors have taken on debatable subjects with easy-to-read narratives. The series is designed for upper elementary students, but older students who struggle with reading will not feel they are reading a “baby” book. Each book describes the controversy, introduces the players, and begins the story. In Who Really Discovered America, the players are not in chronological order as they are introduced, but the text that follows puts them in chronological order. Within each chapter, unfamiliar words are defined and a Fast Fact is given. The books also contain maps, a good timeline, a safe website, and a web connection for games and projects." - Library Media Connection
